  • The idea of creating awareness for the impoverished in Africa is a commendable notion, but (as put by a participant on a show I saw on VH1) starving children in Africa cant eat awareness. Lighting a fire under politicians should have been one of the goals of the concert. How about providing some sort of immediate help for the entire nation. If a dollar donoation would have been by the expected 2 billion viewers, that could have helped Africa right now, and while the politicians did there normal song and dance around the issue. I believe in the resolve of the African nation, but without assistance they will continue struggling to pass the poverty line. But it hurts to have to rest my hopes and beliefs in a group of people I don't believe care about the intrests of the needy.

  • When all is said and done, Live 8 will be known for two things:

    - Raising awareness (and hopefully some money!) for Africa

    - The first time that the web outstripped TV in viewership

There are many executives sweating this one out at the networks. They said it would never happen.

Well boys, read it and weep.
